Sulzkarsee

The only lake in the Gesäuse is hidden in the Sulzkar and is a scenic highlight in the Gesäuse! This small moraine lake is fed by underground springs.Opinions about currents in the mountains (which are not so absurd in this karstified area) are linked to this: Objects that had fallen into the Sulzkarsee from the distant weather hole on the Stadelfeldschneid are said to have reappeared in the Sulzkarsee: the mixer of the dairymaid from the Stadelfeldalm was swimming in the lake , also the bones of a bull that fell into the animal trap of the weather hole, are said to have swum in the Sulzkarsee later.
