Hoge Kempen National Park (Nationaal Park Hoge Kempen) is the first National Park in Flanders, Belgium. It is located in the Campine in the East of the Province of Limburg, between Genk and the Meuse River (Dutch:Maas) Valley. It includes the elevated ground that defines the watershed between that river and the low ground of the drainage basin of the Demer river that covers most of Belgian Limburg.
Getting there
The national park is located between Genk and Maastricht. You should go for either of these two cities when visiting the park. Both cities have plenty of options for renting a car and driving to the park. The closest international airports are Brussels or Dusseldorf in Germany.
When to visit
This is one of the good places to visit in all seasons. The park is located close to cities and you can easily combine your visit to the park with a visit to the cities.
