The Sharr Mountains National Park is a national park in southwestern Kosovo. It covers 53,272 hectares (532.72 km2), centered on the northern Sharr Mountains, a mountain range which also extends into northeastern Albania and northwestern North Macedonia. The park encompasses various terrains, including glacial lakes, alpine and periglacial landscapes.
Getting there
The national park is conveniently located for a day trip from Pristina. The drive will only take you around 1 hour by car. The drive from Skopje is also only 1 to 1.5 hours. However, you will have to cross the border from North Macedonia.
When to visit
The most popular times to visit the national park is during spring, summer and fall. The temperatures drop during winter.
